How to become a ski instructor
There are three basic pre-requests: solid skiing skills, sociableness and, of course, the ski training in accordance with the Austrian Ski School Association …
OPEN-MINDED CHARACTER
A good and professional ski instructor needs to be open-minded for new things, friendly and good with people.
AT THE BEGINNING: LEVEL 1 SKI INSTRUCTOR
With passing the level 1 ski instructor exam, it is already possible to teach skiing and for many people this level is enough. If you want to become a graduate ski instructor, you have to participate in a whole range of trainings and pass exams.
ONLY FOR THE BEST
After passing the level 1 exam you can carry on with the trainings for the ski instructor 1 and 2 (with a difficult alpine training). When it comes to the training of the graduate ski instructor, the wheat gets separated from the chaff because here you have to pass a giant slalom while skiing against the time.
SKI INSTRUCTORS FROM ALL OVER THE WOLRD
Not only Austrians like to become ski instructors, also former “ski pupils” from all over the world pass the level 1 ski instructor examination and come back to the ski school in Maria Alm. On the one hand, this is pretty cool because of the international flair they carry with them. On the other hand, this diversity of languages is definitely an advantage for our guests.
