Ski touring
It doesn’t matter, whether you’re a beginner or experienced mountain athlete – everybody gets the chance to experience a wonderful ski tour around Hochkönig. Beginners and those who train stay on the slopes and meet at appointed times on the nocturnal slopes of the region …
In midwinter we find the best powder snow and excellent downhill runs on Pinzgau’s grassy mountains. When the spring is on our doorstep, the sun gets stronger and changes the snow into “firn-snow”, ski tourers prefer the higher parts of the rock mountains. However, there a lot of know-how and alpine experience are necessary in order to end your trip safely.
TIP: SKI TOURS ON THE SLOPES OF ABERG
Every Wednesday the slopes 10/22/23 are opened for ski tourers until 10 p.m., after the end of business hours. For the way up we choose the edge of the slopes. It happens regularly that skiers come down the slopes after the closing hour. Safety is very important. After 1,050 metres in altitude we reach the mountain station of Aberg and look forward to a stop at a mountain inn.
TIP: MARBACHHÖE OFF-PISTE
We meet at the parking area Hintermoos. Those, who need equipment for their ski tour, can pop in our Intersport Rent-Shop. After we have attached the climbing skins we follow the flat ascending tracks towards the wood. Through the wood we climb higher until we get a glimpse on the mountains Klingspitz and Hochkasern. The downhill run is simply sensational!
A TIP from the expert:
“Our region is perfectly for ski touring. The grassy mountains, the rock mountains, the skiing area – such a unique combination. You also want to do a ski tour, however, you don’t have the right equipment and the necessary know-how? Then share this wish with the staff of Intersport Maria Alm and we get you equipped with the best ski touring material. You get regional know-how and knowledge about safety when participating in a guided ski tour, whether with our pros of the Ski School Maria Alm or our partner the Alpine Ski School Markus Hirnböck.”
