Hundstein is not any mountain. Actually you can call it the backyard mountain of Maria Alm. In the matter of mountain biking is this denotation correct because there is no other mountain bike tour in the Höchkönig Region which can compete in terms of beauty, landscape and sports challenge.

At the annual uphill race hundreds of bikers fight every autumn for the fastest time. In 2001, this race took place for the first time – it was organised by Hans Seifert with the help of the ski club Maria Alm. The participants are awaiting a secure trail. The backpacks with extra clothes are taken up to the summit. Every finisher gets a medal, a warm meal in the restaurant Statzerhaus and there are also many tombola prices to win.
